Logan County is another with two courthouses since 1901.  Booneville’s is a tan brick structure built in 1928.  It is located on North Broadway between 3^rd and 4^th streets.  Broadway is Arkansas State Highways 23. Haralson and Nelson were the architects of the Booneville courthouse in Classical Revival style.  There was a 1901 courthouse also located in Booneville.  Paris’s version has stately columns and a clock tower.  It was built in 1908 and renovated in 1950.  It is located at the center of town at the intersection of Arkansas State Highways 22 and 109 on what can be described as a town square.  The square is surrounded by Walnut, Express, Main, and Elm streets.  A. Klingensmith was the Paris facility designer in Greek Revival style.  Paris, France is the origin for one of the county seats’ names.  Settler James Logan provided his name to the county.  According to tradition, Booneville either got its name from explorer D. L. de Bonneville or from frontiersman, Daniel Boone.  Daniel Boone also gave his name to Boone County.  Reveille (1871), Flat Top Mountain (1871), Ellsworth (1873), Paris (1875), and Booneville (1901) have all been county seats.  Magazine Mountain, the highest point in Arkansas, is in the eastern part of the county.  On March 22, 1871 Sarber County was created and later renamed in 1875.  Parts of Franklin, Johnson, Pope, Scott, and Yell counties were used as the 63^rd county. 

The Arkansas River forms the northern border of the county.  Logan County government consists of a County Judge, a sheriff, and 14 Justices of the Peace.  Logan County government consists of a sheriff, assessor, treasurer, and coroner (executive).  It has 11 Quorum Court members (legislative.)  Three Circuit Court Judges serve Logan, Conway, Scott, and Yell counties and Two District Court Judges, an Attorney, and a County Clerk serve Logan County (judicial.)  The county is in west central Arkansas.  The center of the county is 6.4 miles Southeast of Paris.  The county is surrounded clockwise by Johnson, Pope, Yell, Scott, Sebastian, and Franklin counties.  The county is shaped like a bowtie turned 45-degrees.  Booneville is the southwest corner of the county.  Paris is north of the county center.  Booneville is one of the county seats and the largest city.  Paris is the other county seat.  Booneville is 18.0% of the county population while Paris is 15.1% of the county population.  Fort Smith, Arkansas is west.

The area of the county is 731.5 square miles.  It is 27 of 75 in size.  It ranks 31 out of 75 in population in the state.  It has a density of 28.9 persons per square mile making it 31 out of 75 in the state.  Logan County has 41.9% of its population in its incorporated areas.  There are no Interstates or United States Highways in the county.
