The Modern tan brick structure was built in 1969. It sits at the corner of Ninth Street and Manvel (Oklahoma State Highway 66). The previous 1907 courthouse is the only other facility since September 22, 1891 when the county organized therefore Chandler has been the only county seat. Hudgins, Thompson, Ball and Associates are the architects. An Annex supports the courthouse from 1967. The county was formed from the Creek Nation as the 13th county. Lincoln County is named for President Abraham Lincoln. Chandler was named for George Chandler, the first Assistant Secretary of the Interior. Lincoln County is the birthplace of 1 Oklahoma Governor, Roy J. Turner.
