The tan brick Modern courthouse sits at First Street and Missouri, one block east of Oklahoma State Highway 66.  The structure was designed by Blumenaur & Associates.  The 1937 facility was remodeled in 1981 and until recently was the only courthouse since on November 16, 1907 founding.  Claremore has always been the county seat.  A new Modern courthouse was built in 2012 using the designs of BKL Incorporated.  The county was carved from the Cherokee Nation as the 67th county.  Rogers County is named for Clem V. Rogers, a member to the Oklahoma Constitutional Convention and father of Will Rogers.  Osage Chief Clermont was honored with the county seat’s name. 

Rogers County government consists of a sheriff and 3 Commissioners.  Nine District Court Judges serve Rogers, Craig, and Mayes counties.  Rogers County is in the northeast to the east of Tulsa, Oklahoma.  The Verdigris River travels across the county from north to south.  The county center is in Claremore 2.3 miles North-Northeast of the city center.  The county is surrounded clockwise by Nowata, Craig, Mayes, Wagoner, Tulsa, and Washington counties. 

The area of the county is 675 square miles.  It is 54 out of 77 in the state.  It ranks 6 out of 77 in population in the state.  It has a density of 141.1 persons per square mile making it 6 out of 77 in the state.  Rogers County has 42.6% of its population in its incorporated areas.  Interstate Highway 44 enters from Mayes County, east, and exits into Tulsa County, west.  United States Highway 169 comes from the north, Nowata County, and goes to the west, Tulsa County.  United States Highway 412 crosses the southern part of the county from Mayes County into Wagoner County.  The county is overall rectangular with an extension out the northeast corner and the southeast corner.  The sprawling limits of the city of Tulsa extend into Rogers County.  Claremore is slightly southwest of the county center.  Claremore is the county seat and the largest city.  It is 20.6% of the county population.  This county is in the Tulsa Metropolitan Statistical Area.
