The year the courthouse was erected and its architect are unknown.  It is sited at Manassas Drive and Park Center Court.  Virginia State Highway 28 is four blocks to the northwest of the location.  Manassas Park was founded on January 1, 1975 from Prince William County as the 132nd county equivalent.  It is named for the battlefield.  It is also the source for the City of Manassas. 

Manassas Park City government consists of a Police Chief, a Mayor, and 6 Council Members.  Three Circuit Court Judges and Four District Court Judges serve Manassas Park City and Prince William County and Manassas City and Fifty-nine Magistrate Court Judges serve Manassas Park City and Arlington, Fairfax, and Prince William counties and Alexandria, Fairfax, Falls Church, and Manassas cities.  The city is in the northeast part of the state.  Alexandria, Virginia is east and Richmond, Virginia is south of the city.  The city center is in Manassas Park 1.6 miles Southeast of downtown.  The city is surrounded clockwise by Fairfax and Prince William counties and the City of Manassas. 

The area of the city is 2.5 square miles.  It is 132 out of 133 in the state.  It ranks 88 out of 133 in population in the state.  It has a density of 6886.8 persons per square mile making it 4 out of 133 in the state.  Manassas Park has 100.0% of its population in its incorporated city limits.  There are no Interstates or United States Highways in the city.  The city is shaped like a letter c with an extra fat bottom leg.  The city is pronounced MA-NAS-SAS PARK.  This city is in the Washington-Arlington-Alexandria Metropolitan Statistical Area.
